Summer Camps: Fun That Lasts a Lifetime
This summer, The Friends of Foster Care provided five weeks of summer camps to youth in care and to the siblings in their homes. In total, 208 youth attended 818 weeks of camp creating experiences filled with learning, friendship, and joy.
But camp is about more than fun. This year, we discovered something powerful: foster youth who participate in our camp program are 78% less likely to encounter the juvenile justice system. That means camp is not just a summer activity, it’s a prevention tool that changes futures.
Every game played, every friendship formed, and every new skill learned helps create stability, confidence, and hope. At The Friends of Foster Care, we believe summer camps are an investment in brighter tomorrows.
Summer camps aren’t just fun. They’re prevention. They’re life-changing.
