Our Mission

At The Friends of Foster Care, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive.

Foster care can bring instability: frequent moves, changing schools, and missed opportunities for enrichment. These disruptions often lead to emotional and academic struggles. We’re here to change that. Through community support and targeted programs, we provide foster youth with the stability, resources, and experiences they need to grow, succeed, and feel seen.

What We Do

We’re committed to raising awareness about the needs of children in foster care and increasing the number of foster families in our community. Our programs help fill the gap between what public services provide and what kids truly need to grow up healthy, happy, and supported.

Outreach

By partnering with municipalities and local organizations, we are dedicated to providing education, resources, and support to foster parents and foster children.

Tutoring

We contract exceptional, highly qualified tutors with the experience and training to work one-on-one with foster youth that needs extra support to be successful in school.

Extracurricular Activities

We support foster children’s participation in sports and other activities that will enrich their childhoods, provide stress relief, and enhance participation in the community.

Birthdays & Holidays

There is no shortage of gifting occasions and we work hard to make birthdays and holidays extra special by coordinating personalized gifts for children in foster care.

Camperships

With our partnership with the YMCA and a particular focus on sending siblings who are placed in separate homes to camp together, our kids have unprecedented access to top-tier summer camps.
