Tell us about yourself
Complete a short interest form with your contact info, current situation, and what you're hoping to get out of the program. It takes a few minutes — we'll follow up personally after that.
📝 Online form · 5–10 minutesA short conversation, not an exam
We'll set up a brief one-on-one interview — in person, by phone, or by video — to introduce you to The Friends of Foster Care, walk through what First Star Pathways offers, and answer your questions. Before your first Saturday, you'll join every other new Scholar at orientation to meet the team and get settled in.

Homework help, coaching, and one Saturday a month
From September through May, Saturday Academy pairs hands-on homework help with one-on-one career coaching, plus campus visits, financial literacy, and leadership workshops — a full day, once a month, built around where you want to go next.
- 4 hours of academic homework help each month
- 1 hour of one-on-one career coaching each month
- College and career exploration, on and off campus
- Money management, self-advocacy, and leadership skills
A summer living on a college campus
Scholars carry everything they've built into Summer Academy — weeks living in the dorms, touring campuses, and practicing independence firsthand. It's capped by a multi-day road trip across states, with time to explore the cities and campuses along the way.
