Program Description

The Friends of Foster Care sends text messages to foster caregivers, social workers, tutors, and volunteers who work with us. Messages cover tutoring session scheduling and reminders, gift and program appointments, and answers to questions you send our staff. Texts come from 757-574-9295. This is a two way conversation, so you can reply to any message and a staff member will see it.

How You Sign Up

You sign up by giving us your mobile number and checking the text message consent box on one of our intake, referral, enrollment, or volunteer forms, by telling our staff you want text updates, or by texting our office number first. We only text people who are involved in our programs.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. You will receive messages when there is something to tell you about your services, or when you write to us and a staff member replies.

Cost

There is no charge from The Friends of Foster Care for these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your plan with your mobile carrier.

How to Stop Messages

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from us. You can also reply UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT. We will send one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and after that you will not receive any more texts unless you sign up again. To start receiving messages again, reply START.

Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier’s network.

Privacy
