What Amanda says inspired her to join the TFFC board:

My journey starts with adoption. Ten years ago, my husband and I began the process of adopting our fourth child, Claire, from China. We brought her home in August of 2016. For some time, we adjusted to being a family of six, knowing that our experience would shape what we might be able to do for other children in the future. After a couple of years, we worked with our church to establish an adoption fund/endowment to help other families offset the costs of adoption. We saw great success, assisting several families leading up to 2020. However, when the family courts closed in 2020, the pace of adoptions in our community slowed significantly. Since then, we have not seen the same momentum return, and the fund has since expanded to support foster care initiatives.

Today, we have several families in our church who are active foster parents, and we are working to create meaningful support systems for them through this fund. The foster care process can be complex and emotionally demanding. This reality underscores the importance of strong support systems such as the support that TFFC provides to help foster parents navigate the journey and continue making a difference in children’s lives.
