CAROLINE STOAKS

Tutoring Assistant II

Caroline serves as Chair of the Foster Youth Advisory Board at The Friends of Foster Care, where she reviews programs through a lived-experience perspective. She is also honored to be part of the tutoring team.

A graduate of James Madison University, Caroline studied youth justice, journalism, and social work. She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Norfolk State University, where she is gaining the knowledge and skills to better serve and advocate for youth impacted by the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.

Caroline is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She also has experience working in juvenile justice, including interning at Cook County Juvenile Court in Chicago, the largest juvenile detention facility in the country.

For Caroline, child welfare and youth justice are more than a career, they are a calling. With lived experience in the child welfare system, she understands the statistics that too often define foster youth. Rather than accept those outcomes, she is committed to helping change them.

Caroline’s mission is to advocate for system-impacted youth and help replace the narratives that too often define them with a deeper truth: they are not an orphan, not a criminal, and not abandoned. They are chosen, wanted, and redeemed.
