The Foster Youth Advisory Board (FYAB) is looking for passionate young leaders with lived experience in foster care to help shape the future of programs and services at TFFC. This is your chance to make a real impact; because the best way to serve foster youth is by listening to those who’ve lived it.

What’s FYAB All About?
  • Speak Up: Use your voice to share your experience and influence decisions.
  • Lead Change: Help review and improve programs that affect youth in care.
  • Grow as a Leader: Gain professional skills, mentorship, and advocacy experience.
  • Get Paid for Your Time: Earn a stipend of $1,000–$1,250/year based on participation.

Who Can Apply?

  • Youth ages 18–21 currently or recently in foster care
  • Young adults up to age 26 with lived experience in care
  • Committed to attending bi-monthly meetings (virtual + in-person), contributing feedback, and being a voice for your peers.

What Will You Do?

  • Advise TFFC on what’s working and what’s not
  • Recommend new ideas to better serve foster youth
  • Write an annual report and present to leadership
  • Take on leadership roles as Chair, Vice Chair, or Committee Member

Important Info:

  • Applications open: Now through August 1
  • Elections take place: August–September
  • Term Length: 2 years (with option to serve again)
  • First meeting: September (in-person)
