IL youth program submission page

Our Programs:

Through community partnership, The Friends of Foster Care works to provide resources to ensure IL youth have the opportunity to thrive.  Through our mission to assist, we provide the following support:

Tutoring
We provide one-on-one, academic tutoring to IL youth who need extra support to be successful in any subject at any level including college.

Extracurricular Activities
We support IL youth participation in activities, including sports, fitness, the arts and other social activities that will enrich your life, provide stress relief, and enhance participation in the community.

YMCA Family Memberships
We partner with the YMCA to provide memberships to IL youth and their household.  Open Enrollment for new membership is held quarterly: March 1 -20, June 1-20, September 1-20 and December 1-20.

Driver Education
We provide funding to help foster youth obtain their driver’s license.  This includes in-class and behind the wheel training.

Emergency & Transition Needs
We offer support to IL youth in their time of need, by providing financial assistance for immediate and extraordinary needs that are not funded by IV-E, CSA or Medicaid. We also provide funds to help IL youth transition into independence.

Art Competitions
Are you an artist, photographer, or wordsmith? It is currently our Art From the Heart competition time! You can submit your art, poetry, or other written work to win Amazon gift cards!

We also have a competition to design a coffee label for our coffee collaboration with Neptune’s Fury!

Norfolk Zoo Membership Pass Loan

At The Friends of Foster Care, we believe every family deserves the opportunity to make lasting memories together. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, eligible families can borrow our Norfolk Zoo Membership Pass free of charge for a fun-filled day of adventure and learning.
Simply reserve the membership pass, pick it up from our office, enjoy your visit to the zoo, and return it so another family can experience the same opportunity. The membership pass is valid for admission for up to six people.
