Jalana has over 30 years of leadership in healthcare operations and strategic development. She holds multiple advanced degrees and certifications in public administration, leadership, and DEI. An adoptee herself, Jalana is the mother of two internationally adopted children and a tireless advocate for equity and care.
What Jalana says inspired her to join the TFFC board:
“As an adopted child myself and a proud parent of two adopted children, my passion for supporting foster youth runs deep. I am a dedicated advocate for foster children and currently work in ambulatory operations at Children’s Hospital of Richmond.
My experience as the former chair of the Virginia Beach Social Services Advisory Board and as a Hospital Administrator, has equipped me with the skills to build bridges, foster connections, and develop meaningful relationships that can greatly benefit TFFC, particularly in the Richmond area.
The sheer number of children in foster care and the overwhelming demand for services, many of which are not fully covered, highlight the critical need for advocacy, resources, and collaboration. I am committed to using my experience and network to help fill these gaps and create better opportunities for the children who need them most.“
