Dr. Karen Campbell is Vice President for Student Affairs at Tidewater Community College. She holds a PhD in Higher Education and has dedicated her career to student success. Karen and her husband have also served as foster parents, giving her a personal connection to TFFC’s mission.
What Karen says inspired her to join the TFFC board:
“My husband and I served as resource parents for a foster care agency for several years, hoping to eventually adopt. While that didn’t happen, we had the privilege of supporting several sibling groups, providing them with a safe and caring environment whenever needed. Those experiences deepened my passion for serving TFFC, an organization dedicated to supporting children in foster care.
Many people are unaware of the many ways they can help, and my own understanding expanded greatly once I began this journey. Now, my goal is to raise awareness and inspire others to get involved, knowing that even small acts of support can create a lasting impact. The sheer number of children in foster care continues to surprise me, and I am committed to doing what I can to ensure they receive the care, stability, and opportunities they deserve.“
