Shanda serves as a Parent Support Coach at The Friends of Foster Care where she supports the Prospective Parent Program and helps families discover meaningful ways to get involved in the foster care community. Whether through volunteering, donating, becoming a foster parent, or supporting foster and foster-to-adopt families, Shanda helps connect individuals with opportunities that best fit their interests and goals. She also provides coaching and guidance to foster and foster-to-adopt parents.
Shanda and her husband, Mark, are parents to six children, three biological children and three who joined their family through foster care adoption. After fostering for eight years, Shanda brings a wealth of personal experience and firsthand knowledge to her role. Her passion for supporting the foster care community drives her work, and she is always eager to answer questions, share her experiences, and help others navigate their own foster care journey.
